There's something that's been frustrating me for years, but I recently learned it may be a symptom of Autism! The problem is, my skill set has sharp cutoffs -- I may be a whiz at one thing, but something else people see as very similar I just can't do. For example, I am quite proficient at procedural-oriented programming, but as soon as I try to learn object-oriented programming my brain just shuts off. I had no idea WHY I couldn't wrap my head around it, and it's particularly frustrating because something I really want to do is make mods for Minecraft, which is coded in Java and uses TONS of class objects. :|

To be clear, I'm not just venting here! Advice is welcome~

I have been working on a hypothesis that every genius has at least one really stupid idea, and it has held up for years. Whenever I tried to talk to my bookeeper, we seemed to have opposite ideas of some basic definitions, so to me it was like trying to make sense of a map with the compass directions reversed. I had to unlearn what I thought I knew to get started.
