On YouTube over the weekend I ran into episodes of one of my favorite Saturday cartoons(Star Trek) which aired way back in 1973. As I started viewing them it's like a bunch of memories from watching the program started coming back into my mind. I watched the episodes for a few hours and now that theme song or music during the cartoon has sort of been stuck in my head for the past day or two. I know about music songs that keep repeating themselves in one's head but what about theme music from old television shows that you particularly liked. This particular cartoon stuck with me because it was much more science-oriented than most Saturday cartoons. It sort of reminds me when i used to be interested in the weather as a little kid(still am) and collect waterbugs from the pond(thought about that recently).

There was a TV series I used to watch in black & white as a kid about white horses, I think they are called Lipizzaner horses? I always liked the theme tune from that.

I never really cared for Doctor Who myself. But I have known several people who loved that show.

The only one I can think of is My Friend Flicka.

We have plenty of themes we've gotten from Limewire, and we've also got 2 LPs of TV themes (mostly 50s & 60s). Thunderbirds, Doctor Who, Get Smart, Benny Hill and Th Munsters are goodies. We get all of them on pay TV still. Depending on where you come from, there could be some quite interesting ones.

Live long and prosper.

I love a 80's show called "X-Bomber" (a.k.a. "Star Fleet" in UK), it was made in 1980, but I saw it in 1997 when it was retransmited and I was 10. I couldn't see all episodes because the show was cancelled.

I loved the opening theme "Soldier in the Space", and I couldn't find it on the web. But a yer ago I found a video on Youtube with the complete song by BOWWOW, and the opening of the show. I listened to the song all the day!

I made this thread in tribute to Ron Grainer. His theme tunes are most distinctive, especially Doctor Who, Steptoe and Son, and The Prisoner.

The theme song to Sanford and Son always cracks a smile.

That's by Quincy Jones, the man that made Michael Jackson famous (in spite of himself...).

Chatbrat: all those themes are on the LPs I have. They are called 'TV's Greatest Hits' and were put out by EMI in the mid 80s. Do you have them, or if not, the CDs should be available somewhere.

Sanford & Son was the American version of Steptoe & Son, originally aired in Britain in 1963.

Another goodie was It's About Time, from the late 60s.
