I don't know. It's just a random poll. Personally, I wouldn't, because I kinda hate look of the 'normal' way of life.

No, because AS makes us who we are!

We are very special people!

I learned to live with who and what I am for 48 years, why change now?

AS gives me the power to understand many things that others cant, and i like it. My Aspergers is my protector...Most of the time anyway LOL

For myself, with probable AS... No, I think not. I'm an interesting mix of gifts and curses; LOTS of both; I would not want to give up the gifts; and as for the curses, "That which does not kill me makes me stronger." Until it kills me. But whatever.

For my autistic son... Yes, I think. He's trapped in his own world; he's not unhappy there, but it is frustrating for him, and for those of us who love him and want to communicate with him. It is a tricky prospect; he has an interesting and beautiful mind; I would not want to wreck that; but he's trapped there; what will become of him when I am gone? I so want to talk to him, to talk to my son...

Sometimes I think this may be hell; purgatory at best.

Good fortune,

- Icarus

There is no cure for a syndrome. If there was, it wouldn't be a syndrome.

If your question is, "Would you choose to be neurotypical if you could?" then yes, I'd like to see what it's like to be a "regular guy." But Aspergers has contributed to making me who I am today, and I'm pretty happy with who I am today.
