(Yes i know I'm 14, but please don't comment "why are you trick or treating if you're 14?" I'm still young enough, in my opinion)
Trick or treating is kind of a nightmare for me. Not that much, but I always end up crying at least once, because it's really stressful. You have to go up to all these random people's houses and talk to them all. I may be autistic, so it's extremely stressful for me and I end up seeming rude according to my mom. I usually end up enjoying it eventually, but I need some tips.
Okay, so does anyone know how to just not do the whole "no eye contact angry face I'm an ungrateful kid"? What I mean is, I'm supposed to go like "TRICK OR TREAT!! !" in a super excited voice, but I can never talk first. My autism always tries to control me when I'm in public. I can't just smile and be normal. Sometimes I don't even remember to say thank you, or mumble it.
Also, I'm more anxious this year, because I didn't go last year due to covid-19. So idk if things will be different?
Another thing is, I'm very sensitive to loud noises, and some people's decorations make me panic. I guess that's the point, but it's still kind of painful when they're super loud.
I could just not go, but that's kind of not what I want to do. I'm dressing up as my special interest and I really want people to see it so I can inform them about it.
I'm so sorry rambling so much. Basically I just want some advice on how to act friendly (seems impossible). Also, how can I reply to comments? Been wondering how I can reply to people on here.
