Anyone else have issues with movement in sleep?
I just wanted to know if anyone else has issues with problematic movement in sleep. I recently got told that TMJ is the reason for my horrible pain and that I am clenching my jaw/grinding my teeth in my sleep. I also talk in my sleep and recently started sleep fighting which has led to some strange awakenings. Waking up after the pain of having kicked a wall is a strange experience, and accidentally hitting my cat in my sleep made me feel really bad. Luckily the latter wasn't hard like the former was. Does anyone else deal with similar issues? I only fight in my sleep but I would be interested to hear about any sleep walkers.
Sometimes restless sleep can be linked to meds, that is one avenue to explore.
I have been diagnosed with RLS( Restless Leg Syndrome) now also known as Willis Ekbom. It causes uncontrolled movement at random times to limbs and torso, not always just legs. I feel it worst when I am tired or have over exercised during the day. I need to sleep, but the twitching and jerking keep waking me up and keep me from getting a good nights sleep. Your description of how you move at night might be something else. Your doctor can recommend you for a sleep study, which might uncover the cause of your troubles. Best wishes
