So my mum pointed out to me recently that I don't really chew my food and so I've been making a conscious effort to do so which dramatically has changed how I am with food. I barely have an appetite anymore and find I very quickly can become so full I feel nauseous. I think I was eating WAY more than I needed to in the past and also not helping my body digest things and absorb nutrients properly, which might explain why I suddenly only feel hungry 2-3 times a day. I'm still not perfect at it and struggle to figure out when I should stop before I get sick as that has basically been how I knew to stop eating for my whole life.

I'm finding I also like food a lot less and wish I could just transport food into my stomach. Yes it is tasty but it feels like a chore and I don't get the same kind of euphoric feeling from food anymore. Does anyone else relate? This is a new thing for me as someone who struggles with binge eating and used to constantly over eat. This may be temporary, who knows.

Sounds like a GOOD thing. That you dont get a drug like effect from eating like you did before. And that you do NOT get hungry as often is also a good thing. Sounds like you're better off both nutritionally and psychologically. And dont go on eating binges. Its like you're kicking an addiction. A good thing.

I also tend to wolf food down too fast, and then put myself into a "food coma" of sleep. I hate eating soup. Unless I have a cold. Then chicken soup is the only thing I can eat. But Ive been thinking that I should force myself to eat soups (forces you to eat slow, and soup is diluted in water) to avoid "food comas".

I love food. I enjoy it. To eat something is pleasurable.

I enjoy eating, as long as the food's agreeable to me and I'm hungry. But if I'm busy, I often wish I didn't have to bother with it. I usually choose food that's very convenient to eat - can't be bothered with food that requires the use of 2 hands, dribbles all over the place, creates a load of dirty dishes to wash, takes up too much space on the table etc. If I'm watching a movie I don't want to have to keep looking at the meal to make sure I transport it into my mouth without any accidents. I don't like being distracted, I like to just get on with things without any hassle from anything unrelated to it.

I like the concept. It would make it far more difficult to discover the truth about who really ate all the pies.

But how would I enjoy the taste of pizza?

As someone who also binges, I kind of wish the opposite - i.e. that I could eat stuff and just have the taste and pleasure without it going near my stomach which is where all the trouble starts.

Sure there is. It's called Enteral Feeding.

As for myself...
I just dislike the hunger and craving hormones. And overall sensitivity related to consuming food.
So I just choose to fast every now and then.

The basis of hunger isn't necessarily the taste itself but more like a body's habit no different from being tied with the circadian rhythm and sleep...
It's a bit confusing, but after a long amount of time of not eating does not cause more hunger.

Maybe something happened with the way your hunger hormones excretes? Or something else entirely...

that is the same way that shortfatbalduglyman feels.

however, percutaneous endoscopic gastrostomy is a medical procedure. if you want, you could research whether force feeding is legal in the country that you live in. also, you could look up, if your insurance covers it, but it is hard to imagine that it does.

Food doesn't really interest me too much. I eat healthy as possible though. I also have trouble chewing my food but it's because I just want to get the eating part out of the way. I think it stems from childhood when I just wanted to play out and meal times would just get in the way of that. Also I was poisoned by food quite a lot as a child so I became a bit phobic of it as well.

I've often thought about just having a pill to fill me up instead of having to go through the process of eating.

I like the food and drink high too. Jamie Oliver ruined that though for soft drinks for me, in the UK. Since the sugar tax, drinks manufacturers have taken out the sugar and replaced it all with aspartame, acesulfame K and sucralose. Artificial sweeteners like the latter two give me migraines, and as a result I have far less choice of soft drinks now. Thanks to Jamie.

Well, it would certainly make dealing with sensory issues easier... unless this way of transportation would cause new sensory issues?

If I could just transport food to my stomach I'd probably eat less, which isn't an issue for me and would be a good thing.

I like food too much, if anything. I have a tendency towards potential corpulence.

For me I think it's just that the feeling is so out of my norm that it freaks me out and is really triggering. It sounds like a good thing, especially as it is making me lose weight but it is so alien. Now eating food forces me to connect to my body and while I like how food tastes, I'd gladly use Starfleet Federation type transport to put food in me if that were an option lol. In the mean time I gotta continue eating normally but it is terrifying.
