So, I did it, for the first time in almost ten years I entered a bicycle tour.

I have mixed feelings about how it went. I had a tremendous amount of fun riding again, and really enjoyed that part of it. However, it was a big tour with over 2000 people, and I felt very, very adrift. I went a day and a half where I didn't talk to anybody. Its not that I didn't want to talk to people, but I couldn't really figure out how to reach out.

The attitude fo the tour did not seem very people friendly.

For 7 years, ending in 1995, I did a weeklong bike tour put together by a church group. Those times rank as some of the happiest in my life, perhaps the only time that I felt I belonged somewhere. I did Ride the Rockies this year to try and recapture that (the church does not do the tour anymore, in fact, when they tried to do it in 1996, I was the only one that registered).

So, I'm feeling a bit melancholy. :?

In any case, here are some pictures of the ride...
