So I've recently started doing a DBT workbook bc I have bullimic and BPD traits but I've been thinking about how helpful it could be for autistic people. It helps you learn how to accept uncertainty, not to see things in black and white, control strong feelings and gain insight into your emotions. I found there is already some research into this but what do you guys think? I've found my experience so enlightening and I'm learning so much about how I think and my real problems. Do you have any experience with DBT?

I'm glad to hear it's helping you.

My daughter is ASD / CPTSD. She absolutely loves DBT. I've never seen so much positive growth for her despite years with other forms of therapy. Her last session was about differentiating thoughts from feelings, something she had never learned before but needed because of Alexithymia and poor Interoceptive awareness. DBT has really helped with her emotional health.

I'm happy it is helping her! It helps me finally understand my actions and what leads to them when before I just thought I was suddenly acting without reason and just being dragged along by the wave.

Oh I'm so glad to hear that! ^ It sounds really similar to what she's told me.

She's a lot more solution-based now in her attitude.
