I couldn't. I'm too private and I don't think you should tell every single person your diagnosis. I fact the very thought of walking around my hometown wearing something like that makes me shudder with fear.

strangely enough, i wore my new WP t-shirt for the first time today, to work, AND made sure everyone saw it. responses generally involved a smile (in a positive way), but some people thought it was brill. the kids loved it (although i didn't explain its significance).

after four decades of wondering why the hell i was always getting things wrong, it's nice to actually be able to put a name to it. AND to point this out to other people. (i do realise that i work in education, so people i work with are more likely to know a little bit about AS anyway).

I think it would be great if there were some subtle cues that could be expressed on t-shirts that other aspies might recognize. Other subcultures seem to pull this off pretty well.

I would not be comfortable wearing something with the word Asperger's on it personally. It's just something I would end up having to explain to someone.

I'm thinking of something along the lines of "4:20" I wonder how many people know the signifigance of it. I sort of understand what it represents, but I could not begin to tell you how that happened.
And I can't really think of anything that would work for AS, aside from the alien. This is something I had intended to suggest on here.

It might be a good idea to have more merchandise with just the alien and no advertisement. People aren't as likely to ask questions about
that, but if I saw someone with it I would know what it meant.

yes...I wouldn't mind wearing something obscure that only we recognised. I just don't want to proclaim myself to the entire world.

I dont feel like advertising. Though I am not embarrassed 'bout my "disorder".

I wear my worldpeas.us tee shirt alot. When people ask me about it, I just say it's a website that I've created. Let them do the searching and maybe learn a little something in the process. I've had good feedback so far from the curious ones that do go and look it up.

My son wears his autistic undergroud tee and has had no bad feedback so far.

I want a wrong planet tee also (but will have to wait until I get a little bit of money I can use for something besides bills

I believe there's a time to be subtle and obscure and then there are times when I'm a little more "in your face" say, when I hear the whole "Cure Autism Now" rant.

By the way, have you guys seen the ribbons that some people have stickers for? It's a puzzle piece and for autism awareness. (Like the pink is for breast cancer, the yellow for the armed troops and the red for HIV/AIDS, I think.) When I get my website up and running, I think I'll have one of the puzzle piece ribbons on it.

I was actually considering to WP bumpersticker since alot of folks think autisitic folks are stupid and aren't capable of anything. They see one driving, they'll be like "wow cool, I didn't an aspergers person could drive"

Why is the Wrong Planet "Juniors spaghetti tank top," which uses VERY little material, more expensive than the Tee Shirts?

I would have though Alex would want to give the Tank away to young Aspie woman!
