NOTE: The ! in Jeopardy! name is part of the show's title.

Hiya. I wasn't sure whether to put this, so here goes.....

I have thought long and hard of going to Japan, fulfilling something that almost happened 18 years ago (I applied to go to Japan with my school, but I didn't make the cut) - going to Japan, or appearing on Jeopardy!. However, trying to get on Jeopardy! is harder than trying to get to Japan. With that said, I have several questions:

1) How is getting on Jeopardy! harder than getting to Japan?
2) Which would be more exciting for you, visiting Japan or appearing on Jeopardy!?
3) If you were in my shoes, and had to pick one between the two, which would you go for?

Thanks. :D

I don't like travel very much and have no interest in Asia, so I'd choose Jeopardy!
It's harder to get on Jeopardy! because it's a competition.
Anyone can go to Japan assuming they can afford it.

I'd go to Japan. I've been there before, in 2002. I loved it. If I could live there, I would.

I fear that if I were to appear on a game show, all words would leave me.

3) I would never want to be on a TV show. My awkwardness would probably ruin the show. Sounds pretty scary. So, I'd definitely choose Japan.

2) I hear Japan is very safe and there are lots of interesting things to see. I see nothing scary in a private vacation in a safe foreign country as long as you stay within your comfort zone during the vacation. Unless you are in a tour group or something, you are 100% in control of what you do, where to go and what you eat. Sounds like fun.

1) I believe that appearing on a TV show requires some elimination process whereas going to Japan doesn't. As long as you can afford it, meet the Covid requirements (if any) and have no criminal record etc, you can easily go there. Hence, going to Japan is a lot easier than appearing on a TV show.

Edit: edited to properly answer the three questions in the OP

Exactly. Anyone with enough money for airfare can go to the French Riveira, but most of us wouldnt be able to make it into the National Football League.

However... moving to Japan (ie seeking to LIVE there forever by becoming a naturalized citizen of Japan) might well be as hard, or harder, than making it onto Jeopardy (or even into the NFL).

I'm not exactly book smart, so I'd choose to go to Japan.
