Has anyone used or have knowledge of herbal remedies for inattention and lack of focus?

I'm sure others will disagree with me but I've spent alot time studying this question and the answer is largely there is nothing over the counter that can improve focus. Caffeine, ephedrine, pseudoephedrine and nicotine will have limited benfits but they are
not CNS selective enough and will have major side effects at doses high enough to improve focus.

There's one called Focus, which combines Ginkgo Biloba, Scuttellaria Laterifolia (also known as Skullcap), German Chamomile, Gotu Kola, Avina Sativa Urtica Urens, and Rooibos to make an all natural ADHD formula that is a 100% safe, non-addictive alternative treatment for ADHD, without the risks and side effects of prescription psychiatric drugs.

Not sure if its the same product the link is talking about but you would think since it was mentioned on a forum site with thousands of members with ADHD as for back as April 2004 if it had benfits it would have come to the attention of alot of members.

I get occasional episodes what what seems like ADD, it comes out of stress. I can't hold on to a thought long enough act on it, like a chronic mental fog, so I don't know if it's the same thing. I drink tonic water, it takes a few bottles over a few days but it seems to help. I think quinine is an antispasmodic. Then again, it could be a placebo effect, it works because I believe it will. It's toxic in large doses.

I like the taste too.

Just by chance I took a drink of tonic water yesturday. I could not believe how bitter it was and spit it out. :) I think quinine does not cross the blood-brain barrier very well but it is a P-glycoprotein inhibitor so it can make some other drugs more easily cross the blood-brain barrier. So my theory it is allowing some other agent in your blood to get to your brain in higher levels.

mmm interesting. The taste probably takes a while to get used to. I always liked it and I love the smell too. It came about because I found a had a craving for it at these times. Food cravings are often a good indication of what your body needs, so people might like to follow any food cravings too.

I have been using herbal remedies to treat my ADD symptoms for years.
I take tons of essential fatty acids....combined with l-theanine (reccomended to me by an aspie on another forum..naturally occurring in green tea).... rhodiola rosea....acai berries...
um....well it seems that the entire regemine of verious herbs etc that I take have always centered around mental clarity and anti-anxiety.

marijuana helped me focus on activities for a long time, like deep attentive thought, concentrating on lengthy musical pieces, and playing guitar.

Usually people with inattention can focus on things they enjoy. The litmus test for really treating inattention is can it allow you to focus and do the tasks you hate the most.
