:star: Wish you all a nice start of 2019. :star:
Bought a lot of several kinds of firework batteries. The nonstop firework will last about half an hour this year.
I totally like that. :sunny:

I know that some people do. Many people are their own hell. But that's not my problem and I don't care much about negative people. My life has to be fun.

I like fireworks, they are pretty but it scares dogs and other animals so i wish they would stop doing it. And next year, rocket fireworks will be illegal without a permit where i live. Bangers are already illegal (and for you in the UK, i'm not talking about sausages).

I like fireworks. But I don't like New year's Eve because it reminds me of young people with lots of friends going out and getting stupidly drunk. I hate this, because one time my elderly grandmother with Alzheimer's fell over and broke her hip one New year's Eve, and we rushed her to emergency and the whole place was filled with idiotic youngsters who got so drunk they had to be rushed to emergency, so they were all being seen to. I think drunks should be left to it and people with genuine needs like elderly people or disabled or anybody with serious injuries that aren't related to being too drunk should be the top priority.

Wishing everybody a Happy 2019!

Looking forward to the new tennis tournaments on the road to the Australian Open. Denis Istomin will be playing a tournament in Pune, India. I read an inspiring article about Istomin and his plans for the coming year. I hope I can take his positive attitude about life with me into the next year.

I think as long as you keep cats and dogs a bit away or indoors this night it's not a big problem.

I don't like rockets. It cost to much time to start them and the effects are to far away and the sticks are anywhere. Once they started to sell firework batteries I skipped rockets.

They aren't even as good anymore as 30 years ago and not really worth the money. (At least here in Germany.)

Have you've ever had a pet? They get scared every year, the noises are loud enough the scare the crap out of them even though you may not experience the sounds large because their hearing is WAY better than humans. And there is domesticated and wildlife too. That is why there is a ban coming along where i live.

Some animals do, some become only angry. But I think as long as it is only once a year it's not really a big problem.

Not all pets, I hate fireworks but my dog is indifferent.

I treat the new years eve like an ordinary night.

New years day, however! I do enjoy another roast dinner

Happy new year everyone.

I totally agree with this! It scares pets and wildlife, starts fire, causes injuries, and contributes with pollution. It should be a thing of the past.

And it's not once a year either; we have heaps of eejits around who will start banging the crap from November to February, and the occasional one at completely other times as well, and every time I hope the bast***s blow their hands off (or worse)!

It's allowed for exactly 6 hours a year here. Those are 6 hours too much IMO, but it sure would have helped if it was only those 6 hours.
They have forbidden some types, but I haven't paid attention to that, as I/we haven't used any fireworks since I was a kid. As a kid I was fascinated by the display of colors, before I grew indifferent.

Good ole Colorado and it's fire potential means I didn't have to deal with fireworks this year.

I have had many pets who were terrified of fireworks.
