Do you squirm like crazy and just can't get comfortable in most any chair? Do you toss, and turn, or outright thrash while trying to sleep because you just can't get comfortable? Did you absolutely despise being made to sit on the ground "Indian style" back in elementary school? Who feels me on this?

I shift a lot sitting in chairs, and always found sitting cross-legged at school to be painful (still do, but now I don't have to do it :) ). Sleeping, it depends on the bed, TBH. Invested in one of those tempurpedic memory foam mattresses last year, and I've got to say, that is one comfortable bed to sleep in. Of course, at that price 8O it ought to be.

I used to have this horrible dilemma where I couldn't sleep but was too tired to get up and do anything, so I'd sort of move around in bed and the moving would lull me to sleep... I still so that, but I had the dilemma before I realized I could do that.

I guess I lay 21 hours a day so sitting for a few hour gives me tail bone pain(I rarely sit). I need to buy a chair and practice sitting more.

I mainly sit on my legs, which I think is the cause of me being pigeon-toed (I wasn't born that way. It developed around kindergarten.). Everyone I know of who's tried sitting like that says it's extremely painful, but I find it very comfortable.

I have a blowup exercise ball I sit on when I am on the computer. I can bounce, roll from side to side and it works the micro muscles so I stay flexable. Between my cat streaching and me sitting on one of them it popped and I was sitting on the remains on the carpet. I went over and sat on the couch and within a couple of hours got so stiff and sore I could barely hobble. I hastened right over to Big5 and got their 12 buck special and have been bouncing around ever since.

I recommend it!

Merle

Depends whether I'm tired or not if I'm tired when I lay in bed I thinks it's the most comfortable thing in the world if it is too hot I can't sleep I toss and turn. I find chairs very comfortable except hard wooden ones very bad.

I've got to say, that does sound extraordinarily comfortable as a way to work at the computer.

My bed is very comfortable so that's not a problem, but I prefer to stand than sit because I find most chairs very uncomfortable.

At my physical therapy office, the therapists always sit on those balls when wokring with people at lower levels. It is very comfortable to sit on a ball like that and really helps with balance. I have one, but can't leave it out to sit at the ocmputer because my kids will steal it and break things around the house or the ball, playing with it or the cats might scratch it.

I have a pretty good bed, but I've rarely met a comfortable chair.

I squirm a lot when I have to sit "properly', but if in an informal setting, I commonly am comfortable sitting Indian style (even if the chair has arms I manage), on my legs, or with one leg up so I can rest my arm on my knees. At my computer, I sit kind of indian-style like except with my legs up near face level (hard to describe I guess lol). Did some experimenting in my summer bio class and found out sitting that way seems to increase my short-term memory by 4 times. Another position (can't recall which one) also helped me focus on the topics at hand better. Kinda weird lol.

Can't stand to sit "normal" ever. Always feel like my awareness of my relevant surroundings is leaking out of my toes (another bad description I know.) Makes me kind of go ADD but in any other position and I'm better.
