I have besides a pacing habit, a habit since I was 11 of having daydreams that often are the
same daydreams. Meaning I'll have a stock of daydreams based on a certain person,
scene, but instead of usually having original ones I'll have the same exact daydreams.
Kind of like playing a song you like again.

Does anyone else do this and would it be considered stimming because of it's repetiveness?

Yes, I do that as well. I often daydream exactly the same. I also have this "stock" of recurring daydreams; I know exactly what you mean. I guess it might be stimming. It's a very stereotypical and repetitive activity, just like someone would e.g. rock back and forth or constantly scratch their head, and it makes me feel calm and comfortable - especially when in a stressful situation, but in fact always.

My guess would be that it is indeed a kind of stimming. This is really an interesting question by the way, and if I were a psychologist I would consider writing an article about it. Maybe someone already has.

Oh, yes! I also have a set of daydreams that I repeat over and over. They comfort me, especially when I'm trying to go to sleep. Sometimes, though, they interfere with my everyday life. There are days when my real life just seems like a nuisance that takes me away from my favorite place to be -- my daydreams.

It's very strange to hear that others do this too. Do you think NT's experience it as well? I'm curious to know. Writers must do it to some degree. Surely, they don't limit their fantasies to only the times when they're sitting with pen to paper (or fingers to keyboard).

I always think that I should make use of my daydreams by writing a book or screenplay, but I never seem to be able to finish. It seems to take the joy away from my daydreams to have to concentrate on the details necessary for putting them in written form.

Oh of course. I often have had collections of specific narratives that I love to repeat over and over again. It's almost as if I have them stored in a sort of mental chest, and I take them out at will.

Stimming is a repetitive physical behavior. What is being
described here sounds more like perseveration.

NTs definitely have recurrent daydreams. Most people have daydreams, and most people also have favorite ones that they replay again and again.
