I Can't Stop Fiddling with Fabric Corners

You know, where fabric comes to a corner, like on your bed or something.

I literally can't stop fiddling around with them and it's actually driving me nuts!

I push the point of the corner in, I pull it back out again, and so on, and on and on.......

I must do this for hours every day. Aaaaarrrrggghhhh!! !!

I'm crazy about edges of things (I looove touching the edges of knives, sharp edges are the best), including fabrics & clothes, furniture, playing cards... I like sitting on the edges (arms) of sofas, windowsills, worktops in the kitchen...
I don't do it for hours though, that seems like a bit of a problem if it interferes with your life too much.

I fiddle with the edges of my shirts a lot. It's just something I do when my hands aren't preoccupied, often when I'm in my own head or if I'm talking to someone.

Well, it's something different for each of us, but it all boils down to the same thing.

And it's super-difficult to stop, for me.

I'm even at it now!

I need to fiddle with something, more often than not doodling or whatnot. I have a compulsion to pull my clothes and I've been doing it for years. I also like wrapping myself in blankets incorrectly.

I’ve done this my whole life. I fiddle with the pointy corners of my work collars to the point that the fabric wears out.

I cut the collars off work shirts when they need to be discarded so that I fiddle with the edges and points anywhere.

It doesn’t need to be the pointy edge as you can fold crispy edges of sheets etc to make a point

I would always fold over the edge of certain blankets and flick the corner of the fold between my fingers.

I used to fiddle with the edges of book pages, they were all curled and rolled. But now we don't have books, we have Kindles and tablets so that stopped me

I have similar compulsions.

I fiddle with book pages when I'm reading.

But a lot of times I don't notice till I have been doing it for a while. I got in trouble with a teacher one time because they thought I was just flipping through the pages and not reading during assigned reading time. But yeah it's like I have to do it, if I focus on not doing it then I can't concentrate on reading.

Here's a compulsion for you:

A problem I frequently ran into as a teen with my special interest (Collie dogs), I'd find myself staring at a picture of a collie and being unable to look away to the point my eyes hurt.

Any thoughts on that?
