Hey, all :)
I have been thinking about getting (re-)evaluated for autism, possibly for a second time. I was diagnosed with autism and ADHD when I was 11, 7 years ago, however I believe that I should get evaluated again. When I was diagnosed, I was not told that I have autism. Also, the 2 doctors who diagnosed me were… Shady, to say the least. I found out that I have autism after a looong talk with my mother. Apparently she wanted me to grow up as a “neurotypical” kid, which left me with a lot of questions and many difficulties that were never addressed growing up.

Anyway, I am finally an adult and want to get an official diagnosis by a professional. I am still in hs, and that is the main reason I believe that I should get an official diagnosis. So I am able to get assistance.

Should I? Has anyone else gotten re-evaluated?

Also Eng is my 2nd language so I apologize for any bad grammar <3

I've only been evaluated once, but that was just two years ago, so I don't anticipate ever doing it again. If you don't trust your original assessment and you cannot get adequate support without another one, I think it may be a good idea to get assessed again.

Welcome to wrong planet.

Yes you should for these reasons

Your original doctors were “Shady”

More knowledge about Autism now.

For your own piece of mind. One needs to be sure of what is going on in ones life in order to move forward.

Thank you, y’all! And yes, I have been told that I can not get assistance without another diagnosis.
