Don't know if anyone can identify with this one but I have noticed alot of people for some strange reason start to be very nice to me and start talking to me in a nice way but at the same time they act as if they know something am I making it obvious. It happens alot in different places sometimes it happens in shops and there are other places as well.

A lot of people havent even heard the word aspergers, so they assume theres something worse thats wrong with you.

I swear it's gotten worse as I've got older. But on another personal note it's also gotten easier to spot others like me....it's like you just "know".

when they start talking kinda slow, and being very very patient?

yeah. they spotted me, however how they think they need to relate to me is just their opinion.

The best 'spotting' I got one time was in a GoodWill Industries store ( that hires the mentally 'handicapped') I had just come from the dentist and still had gauze packed in my mouth and had to very carefully say "Please tell me where you sell your cassette tapes?" The woman behind the counter immediately saw me as 'one of theirs' and personally escorted me to the section, treating me with great deference, like I was a rock star or something!

I should mumble my words more often. Maybe I could get a better seat on the bus?

what i wanna know is how haveing a gun up to my head is more offencive as an avatar than having the word whore in it

all depends on how you react to the word 'whore'.

a whore is honest work for honest pay. Maybe you have been told 'oooh, a whore is offensive.' Well, that is the point of the avatar, richardbenson. Anyone can be a whore to consumerism, and that it the point of the avatar.

evidently the avatar is doing it's work.

If I had a Walmart Logo with the term "consumer whore" I admit it would be much more true to life.
I drive by on my way to work, watching people rush in to buy their made in China cheap goods and pounding a nail into the coffin they are burying the US in. They seem to be so happy about it, too.

saving money to buy more cheap goods from China.

I don't follow your logic, richardbenson,
but since I was not the one that told you to stop using your old avatar, I am not the person that can tell you you can use it.

how being a consumer whore relates to suicide prevention, I have no idea!

however I do know that useless wrangling about what we think should happen and what other people think should happen will often trigger a meltdown and an excuse to have to change your signature back to 0 days with out alcohol, so I strongly caution you to consider this angle of your decision.

I've sat at the front before and got away with it. Then again the bus is usually empty when I do that.

People...look at me a lot. I seem to draw attention without making any effort, but very few people talk to me.
I suppose I tend to look aggressive at times...my facial expression is often severe.
What I have noted is that others who clearly have similar issues seem to take interest in me.
