Being entirely self-taught from 6th grade on up (“homeschooled”)

Being a huge success in college despite what I experienced there

Being open-minded despite my upbringing

Waking up and leaving a cult

Being a good mom despite my upbringing

Being proactive about healing even if it means going to really dark places and hiking for miles to do it

Leaving an abusive marriage

Starting to put myself out there more, so I have a chance of finding happiness

Starting to speak up more because I’m striving to be less of a doormat

Being intellectually curious and a lifelong learner

Single parenting in the face of adversity for 26 years.

Raising three incredible, smart, funny, loving, empathetic, moral human beings.

Adopting and raising a difficult child who is now independent, happy, and successful.

Working full-time long enough to earn LTD income and a pension, for my kids' sake.

Keeping a house and mortgage on my own, again for my kids' sake.

Living on no money.

Providing a loving home for approximately twenty cats and dogs over the years.

Learning to love again despite trauma.

Graduating Uni with Firsts.

Having integrity.

-----

None of it would matter except that it helped me provide a good home for my kids, who love pets.

I don't think I've accomplished anything that could be deemed impressive :(

But I'm persistent, so I still might.

In the words of Jessie J:
"I still fall on my face sometimes and I can't colour inside the lines coz I'm perfectly incomplete, I'm still working on my masterpiece. I'm going to hang with the greats, got a way to go but it's worth the wait, no, you haven't seen the best of me, I'm still working on my masterpiece."
