How does it make you feel when people lie to preserve your feelings? Like, they tell you that you smell great, when in reality, you do not?

I would feel puzzled and try to work it out, as I tend not to pick up on hints.

If they lie but you don’t know they are, then I would feel fine. If you know you smell bad, and someone tells you you smell good, then there is either something wrong with their nose, or they are too embarrassed to tell you that you smell bad.

Of all the ways I've heard of people lying to protect someone's feelings telling they smell good when they actually have an odor problem is not one of them.

I wish I have someone who'd try to protect my feelings. :( My family have either introverts who don't say anything no matter what they think, or people who would blab their brains out whether you want to listen or not.

To be honest though I don't spend much time with feelings. Most of the time I can't tell what my feelings are. Isn't that typical for autistic people? My social deficit include a general disinterest in what other people feel about me or what I feel about them. :)
