the movies Pi and Shine

I am not a psychiatrist, so I am not sure what constitues certain mental illnesses. But, it seem to me that the main character in the movie "Pi" (with the Greek letter) is an example of someone with AS. He desperately wants to find order in the chaos. He is definitely a loner with a big headache--ha ha. Watch the movie, if you dare (it is pretty depressing!!). And, what about the character (pianist) in the movie "Shine?" As a pianist myself, I certainly see a lot of him in me, although I am not nearly so talkative or tactless! It has been said that the pianist Glenn Gould had AS, and this pianist (in "Shine") is similar, but even more extreme.

This doesn't really have anything to do with what you are talking about, but ive seen the movie Pi about 4 years ago, and i thought it was so bizzare that it was actually hillarious!! !! ! That scene at the end where he drills in his head is quite corney: He could never servive performing a labotamie on himself!! !!

I loved the movie shine! I agree that he might have AS. I have never seen Pi though, so I cant say.
