I have gone through a number of colonoscopies and have another one scheduled for a month from now.
The prep is difficult but very temporary.
I would advise buying adult diapers. They run about $20 on Amazon. I only have had only one accident. It is a watery mess to clean up so it is best to overcome the stigma of wearing a diaper.
Pretty much everyone at your age and over has routine colonoscopy's. Pretty much everyone else that has not knows multiple people who have so I doubt the driver will gossip.
You are administered Anesthesia during the procedure so no pain.
If you can I would take the next day off. The prep does put your body through a workout. The different diet also tires you out. If you receive general anesthesia that still might be wearing off.
As far as fear of them finding something or something going wrong everybody fears that and if they say they don’t they are lying.
