I’m sure most people have this but my brain just loves to have the same two verses of a song on a continuous loop! I’m not sure if it’s a stimming/comfort move than my brain automatically does. That actually sounds reasonable now that I think of it.
I did find a meditation on Insight Timer call “hear rest” where you find and focus on the part of your brain that does the talking. When you put your focus there you can stop the incessant talking for a bit. The more you practice the easier it gets.
I find I need to exercise some control over my thoughts because I’ve realized after all these years how much my thoughts can effect my mood and motivation

I totally felt this! This happens to me when I discover a new song that I really really like. I tend to either play it on repeat on my phone, or I play my favorite verses in my head. I think it is some sort of stimming. I also verbally stim with verses/memes/lyrics.

Personally for me it's more a medley of songs that all flow into each other and skip into the next. Usually there's some sort of connection that the songs have in common. Or they might just rhyme.

I am a songwriter/ composer, and the play/ musicality of my auditory stimming has been my saving grace in life.
I definitely go full days just singing the same line or verse over and over in my head, and love permuting/ remixing melodies and phrases. Sometimes when I get an ear worm of a song I don't want in my head it takes a lot of effort to refocus, so I make up silly versions of the song, where I goof with the melody/lyrics/timing and it helps.

Yup. That's a pretty good example. Why have one earworm when you can have a colony?

It doesn't happen as much to me these days. I just decided that if I had a few lines in my head, that I'd just learn the rest of them. For the most part, if I complete the song, then I seem to be done with it for a bit.

What was the video?

Rather than a dj it is an African American band called "Shalamar" doing an Eighties medley of Sixties Motown hits...all strung together with a disco beat. Too bad that you cant get it (because you're in the UK?).
