I was wondering if anyone's underwent ABA, especially as an adult, for sensory processing issues / overstimulation, how that went, and whether you were satisfied with the results?

I've been trying to find help reducing my sensory processing issues and overstimulation, and have been directed to ABA couple times, but don't see how that would help considering what I need addressed is not behavioral? I don't care if people know I'm struggling, I need the struggle itself addressed.

Have you tried talking to a psychiatrist about this :?: Psych meds help me not be as stressed out by things including sensory stuff. I was also kinda forced by my parents at times & my extremely limited employment options to be in environments that were more bothersome to my sensory issues. I tried staying focused on my work as best I could & I kinda learned to tune some of the sensory stuff out.

@nick007 I haven't and don't currently have a psych, but medication hasn't been helpful in the past so I'm hesitant. i've been forced out of that zone my whole life as well, exposure hasn't made a difference and my sensory issues are actually getting worse lately, even with things I encounter daily :/

I did Occupational Therapy for Sensory Processing Disorder. The OT gave me info on quite a few products I could use as well, although I didn't invest in all of them. I also did a vagus nerve reconditioning program called The Safe and Sound Protocol with my OT. That was for my hyperaroused nervous system. I didn't think it was helping at the time but in retrospect I think it did.

I have been threatened with ABA , so my parents are very ableist. Luckily it has not happened... at least yet.
