has anyone else noticed this? I mean I click on a link to a thread or something, it takes like half an hour to go through, same if I try to send a message on a thread sometimes. I usually end up having to close out the window and reopen it, even then it's still slow. Is there a lot of traffick on this site or something? Perhaps we need a larger server?

I tend to agree...I only rarely have a problem browsing...sometimes it takes maybe 20 seconds to load a page (which is a long time), but not really more. Moreover, I only hit server problems maybe once every few weeks. Then again, I am only on the forums maybe a couple hours a day.

So...eh?

Yeah, I think that's what that person meant by it going offline. It always gives you that "MySQL error" for a while about 1 in the morning.

I notice the MySQL error a lot between 10:30 and 11:30 Pacific Time. That's 1:30-2:30 eastern. I've been saving my messages in my word processer lately, in case the site doesn't work when I hit submit. It's soo annoying when that happens.

I assume WP is unavailable from 1 a.m. Eastern U.S. time until maybe 2 a.m. each morning, based on experience & what I've read. Lately, though, the site's been slower-any old time, whether there are 400 or 800 members online.
Inadvertently triple-posted a comment because after I hit "submit", the page seemed not to be loading, so I hit the "stop loading this page" icon on my browser & tried re-loading it (twice, before it finally accepted my comment). Didn't realize that had made my comment appear 2 extra times, so I went & edited them away.
Now my post count is inflated (+2), but due to a related previous glitch (about 350 posts ago) my post count was already incorrect (-1), so it works out to "+1" overall. Sure is confusing...
