Thank you for posting these videos. I cried a lot as I recognized the struggles these young men have to go through... and at least they knew about their autism before they were adults. Now I'm not sure which is harder really.... knowing all along that your life ahead will be diminished compared to that of normal people or to suddenly discover you're disabled and never knew why but now have to live with it.

TBH I hated how the programme threw around 'autism' freely... I mean, surely there should have been differentiation between non-verbal autism and AS. I would personally hate it if someone labelled me autistic... but hey, if one wants to draw pity...

(Also, how exactly was the job-seeking guy autistic? He has better communication skills than most NTs!)

There is also a follow up documentary titled "The Autistic Me: One Year Later", if you can find it on youtube. Tom's mom reminds me a lot of my own. She's always rummaging through my stuff, opens my mail, and thinks I can't do anything for myself :(
