Argh, I think I may have ADD :?
I can't ever stick with anything! I recently though of an idea for a story and I really wanted to at least write a bit of it. I drew half of the ideas and the rest is in my mid but that's as far as it went. I'm always thinking of ideas which I want to follow through with but it's only seconds after which I lose interest.

Is there any type of therapy or smoething to help me with this as it can be really frustrating. The only time I ever stick with anything is if it's something essential like college which I need to get done but once i've finished education i'm not sure what i'll do. I don't want to give up completely on life if I fail one job interview or womething etc.

Anyways any thoughts/suggestions?

This is a real pain in the arse. :(

This is just a thought and it may be WAYYYY out there, but . . .

Have you ever used something called info mapping? (I've also heard it called webbing or extreme mapping). It's a way to organize either projects or writing, so that it's fairly visual. There's all sorts of software available for this type of thing, the one that we use is www.inspiration.com. I'm thinking that maybe seeing your story/stories outlined in front of you might be motivation to break each chapter down into chunks, and you'll find it easier to get ideas down on paper.

It's worth a look.

Kris

i have that! in fact the only things i've stuck with are my life (!) and being a mother to my son because i couldn't persuade myself that it would be alright not to.
Sometimes I think of my activities like "circling" around something ,homing in, so that although it can seem like you're all over the shop there's actually a common element in all the apparently unfinished projects, like when painting a big picture ( almost none of which i've ever finished to my satisfaction!! ), and move around all over; balancing, and counterchecking, and strengthening, in this corner , then another etc!!
That's when i'm feeling positive , haha, otherwise i feel like you; utterly p***** that so far have nothing to show for all these years of hopeful beginnings .
Well , that is except the story i tell myself about it all!!

Some of these programs will redraw it for you so it is not cluttered.

It is likely some executive function and/or attention problem. Join the club.

I'm always on the lookout for diagram making software. So far I've used Freemind and OpenDraw.

sorry no advice... this is a big life problem for me too. i can't stay motivated and stick to things. with writing, it helps me to do that web-chart thing. i don't actually look back at them... just if i gush everything onto paper, it helps my brain organize the info, so then i will be able to start. otherwise i can't even begin things sometimes... but i have not found a way to stay on track either.
