I dunno why this has been happening, Ill lay down on my bed, begin to feel restless so I go back on the computer and feel fine.. But I wont feel tired like I should or anything.. Its kind of bothersome because I have very few hours of sleep (that I do during the day) and Im tired through out the day.. Is my "clock" off or could it be something worse? Probably something I shouldnt be getting all worked up about though.. Another thing being that Ive noticed is that recently Ive been pacing more than usual and Ive taken up hand rubbing when I pace.. All of this is really recent so I dont know what to think. Im also really bothered by it because I cant pinpoint an exact reason why Ive been feeling more stressed out lately, so Im just confused.

Similar has been going on with me. I'm attributing it to season change, as I noticed I react oddly until I readjust.

Stress can cause insomnia.

Are you getting enough exercise during the day? This will help you sleep better.

Also a regular bedtime and avoiding tea/coffee and alcohol a few hours before bed.

You could try a nice warm bath or shower before bed to get you relaxed

I am a former insomnia sufferer. I read every book about it. What I found useful was choosing a big number and counting backwards until you fall asleep eg 12 234, 12 2333 ....

This words better than counting from 1.

Good luck
Helen

Any change that feels big can cause stress, including good changes! And stress itself isn't bad, we need some stress or we just lie around all day feeling understimulated!

you've become very active here on wp and you've said it's given you a lot of hope and support and that's good stress!

i've been wp-obsessed myself, i'm trying to keep up with the rest of my life too! i'm getting there slowly....

so give yourself a pat on the back and make sure you give yourself time to get used to all this new stimulation! 8)

your clock is a little off but you are sleeping during the day so you aren't seriously sleep-deprived. don't add to your stress by worrying about it too much! :D

try not letting yourself get on the computer when you should be sleeping. schedule your computer time in advance for yourself!

then when you are having trouble going to sleep, get up and pace for 15 minutes and then try getting back in bed and instead of actually getting on the computer lie in bed and think about what you like about being on the computer, how soothing it feels, posts you've seen or made that you liked, just close your eyes and rest, giving yourself congrats for finding this warm understanding community, for feeling hope, without taking on the work of actually communicating at that moment, putting that off until daytime or evening when you've set aside time for reading and responding to wp.

me, im not going to respond to anything else right now, if i see something i want to respond to i'll mark it and come back later. it's six am, and im just going to look at wp for a few minutes and go back to bed!

nitey-nite, friend! :)

I'm an insomniac, too. I would say it is one of the salient features of my Asperger's, along with unusual interests. If I can't sleep, I just read, write or watch television.
