Anybody else have problems with discomfort from the teeny earplugs that come with the IPOD?

Are there any you can recommend that are comfortable?

I love those earphones I find them very comfortable if you find them uncomfortable it means you might and I don't want to be personal here you might have something in your ear.

Or just small ear canals. There are some rubber ones in the shops now that go right in and they're quite small. I've not tried them though.

I tend to feel like those earbuds are about to fall out, so I shove them in too hard,
then they do fall out, after making my ear sore! I like the kind called "ear-hugger"
headphones, they have a hook at the top that goes over your outer ear like a pair of
glasses go over, then they feel secure and I quit messing with them. Could that be
how your ears are getting sore, too?

Here's a link to a picture of them on amazon.com, in case I explained it badly.

The Koss KSC75 is an excellent earphone for the low price point. The Sennheiser CX300 is even better if you're willing to pay a bit extra. The latter are ear canal headphones, however. Some people don't find them to be very comfortable.

is it all in the earphones that have problem with,or just the white/ipod ones?
if it's all of them, how about getting a pair of headphones instead?

sennheisers and sony do good headphone ranges [look for dj level headphones as these are of better quality and have smaller jacks included which fit nearly all portable music players.

they are bulky though, thats the only problem with headphones.

Here's what I use most of the time - Macally iPod Headphones

I wear these things almost all day long, unless I'm at work.
They are great!
No cords, the earcups are comfortable and you can still plug them in like conventional headphones with the extra cord that comes along.

I will be listening to my iPod and working on a PowerPoint show for class, then when I need to listen to sound I may be importing to the show, I can plug the cord into my headphone jack of the macbook and into the port on the headphones without taking the iPod out.

You can just reach up and work the controls while wearing them, if you are coordinated enough. Otherwise, just pull them off and make your selections.

No batteries or cords! I love them.

Yesterday I found these - EARJAMS

They clip onto your little earbuds to make a tighter fit like the more expensive ones.
I tried them out when I was doing homework and they worked really great. I'm just not too keen on having the dangly cord of the earbuds because I'm always catching my hand on them and jerking them out of my ears 8O
I got mine at the local Mac store (our own little private mac store... not the big apple one) for $14.95.

Hope that helps :D

Just a note... if you have an older iPod (with square corners/edges instead of the newer round corners/edges) you may not be able to find a set of the macally headphones that work... Apple moved the 1/8 stereo plug over just a bit when they changed design

Also... if you do get them, BE CAREFUL ABOUT THE VOLUME SETTINGS! But then, I guess that goes for any ear device you use.
I've BLASTED my dang eardrums so many times because I left the volume turned way up on the iPod 8O

Seems like my ears are a tad too big for those earbuds to stick into the ear; they often drop out of my ears, and the little foam hood over each bud is at the receiving end of a lot of earwax and what not.

On most MP3s, the earphone jack is a standard 3.5mm (1/8" ?), but my cellphone (which also has radio and MP3) uses a set of earbuds with a special jack, slightly narrower than standard, and with four connections rather than the standard three.

I don't like earbuds, because I have difficulty finding a volume that I can tolerate. Especially when using an iPod, sometimes the lowest volume is too loud for me.

i prefer nice big fat earphones that cover my ears like earmuffs--- the little ones that go in the ears hurt.

I can't get them to stay in my ear!!

The Sennheiser ear buds are a lot better as they come with three different sizes of rubber insert.

I dont like earbuds because they always tend to fall off and rip apart, I am more concerned about whether head phones i buy will actually work and last for quite sometime. The last few pairs i have bought seem to snap easily ad stop working in one ear after a couple of months, i have now got a pair of earphones made from a company called "strand" not really a big name but they have seemed to have come up with a long lasting, perfect fit for my ears without the need for earbuds since they seem to be softer than most sets of earphones and they only cost £4.

Depends on how your ear is shaped, I think the buds are annoying cause theyre always falling out.

It all depends on your budget.
