I am wondering this as DD consumes a lot of milk (2 gallons a week if we'd let her!). Trying to wean her off but fighting a 15yo in a routine is no joy ride!

No, at times I can drink > 1 ltr/day. If there are no apparent effects I see no problem and personally I believe that some eating/drinking habits likely come from an actual physical need.

I can't drink a lot of milk let alone eat a lot of wheat-based stuff as it causes me way too much pain.

Not lactose intolerant, but I cannot drink straight milk or eat much cheese or else my tummy is in horrible turmoil. I can eat things with milk in them or cheese sprinkled over with no problem at all.

I drank milk everey day for years but in the past few years I found myself needing the tiolet rather urgently after my breackfast cereal so decided my stomach didnt agre with the cereal, or the milk.

So
I switched to saya milk, problem solved, so guess Iam lactose intolerant know but wasnt allways.

Whilst we are on the subject of milk, there is growing concern that the high rate of cancer in the west is due to our high milk consumption.
The reason being, we all have potential for cancer in us, milk is designed to turn little calves into big cows, ie, it contains growth hormones, not to mention all the artificial growth hormones farmers add.

Now, your adult body no longer needs these growth hormones, but any potential tumours do, they love them, it encourages them to grow!

I havn't been diagnosed but I'm fairly convinced I have AS. I was apparently lactose intolerant as a child, which is odd because I can easily drink 3L+ milk a day, more if I could afford it. I used to buy 3L almost every day for a few years.

lactose intolerance has nothing to do with the diagnosis.

I was severely so as a child and even into my teens. By adulthood I apparently outgrew it, and now I'm making up for lost time :)

I'm surely lactose intolerant, since I always have stomach problems after drinking of pure milk.
My mother have same problem, although my father and brother drink a gallons of milk.
And to be honest,I actually consider taste of pure milk (warm one in particular) disgusting.

However I eat a lot of cheese and drink lots of yogurt without any stomach problems, and I found this very strange... :?

Perhaps cheese and yogurt don't have lactose?

I can't drink milk. It gives me a stomach ache. It has since I was a baby. I really don't like it anyhow.
I can eat cheese though.

Milk definitly needs to be cold to drink, preferably freezing. It is also in my opinion a very aquired taste, if I don't drink it for a few days or change brands it tastes kind of gross, but then I get used to it again and it's probably my favourite drink in the world.

I am fructose intolerant - different sugar, same effects. Intolerance to either reduces the absorption of tryptophan, which lowers serotonin and can cause behavioral problems.

When I discovered my intolerance, I was having frequent bowel problems and panic attacks. Cutting out the fructose (especially soda and other foods that are dripping with fructose) led to an improvement in both types of symptoms.

After minimizing fructose for a year or so, I found I was able to consume some without problem - infections or stomach flu seems to set me back and make me less fructose tolerant. But I still limit it - half a can of soda once or twice a month is plenty for me.
