Is it easier for you to have contact and be be appreciated by someones pet? How many others have a natural ability to be accepted or liked by pets? Animals like me- I pay little or no attention to some ppl's pet,s (even neighbors') and they seem to seek my attention.

I've had close relationship with all sorts of animals. Cats, dogs, seagulls, hedgehogs, rats, mice, a muskrat, a praying mantis, and at the moment I have a sparrow I raised from a baby. They all have been very rewarding and good friends. If you like them and treat them well they will behave the same way. It helps if you learn their language.

I love animals in general, and tend to find them very calming.

I doesn't work all the time, but a number of generally skittish animals seem to like me strangely much.

It pleases me.

Has anyone else thought about getting a service dog for autism?

I don't know if it is animal affinity or not, but I love them when I was a child, so they usually like me also. But now as an adult, I realized there's still dogs who love me or who hate me, in the sense that I seem to wake up in them only feelings of love ( the vast majority) or animadversity ( they ( the males dogs ) treat me like if I was like another male dog who was challenging them ) I don't know ....

I have seen this in my own pets, and occasionally in others' pets. Usually I just assume we are more likely to be ourselves with animals, not pretending to be nice to them, I guess it's easier to be honest to animals and they do seem to react in the same manner. Cats, dogs, and horses are less likely to be deceived by our emotional honesty, and in the sense of pack animals, even an equal. This is where we are likely to see companion comfort from animals in general. My Mom is caring for a cat that loves me- gets extra excited around me and MUST be given attention when I visit, simply from hearing my voice.

The other hand- I've had my my lip split by a jealous dachshund, (his owner fancied me) and skittish animals are defensive with most everyone anyway.

I'm envious of you and your Hedghogs Sand! I love'em! CUrrently I have red eared slider, Tarzan, who liked climbing his tree when he was small enough to.

I get along better with animals than people because animals are a source of unconditional love and acceptance.

In the last three o four months I have established a relationship with the little dog of the woman that keeps clean my house. Sometimes her owner leaves it to me fo one or two days. Before I have had cats (one for 21 years). The little dog is very affectionate to me, and I to her, to the point that her owner is perhaps a little jealous. I should say that this little dog has filled my life in an incredible way.

I have a great love of all things furred and feathered. I can sit watching animals for hours. The love I feel for them generally far exceeds any love I feel for a human. And animals have always been drawn to me, yes.

I have 2 instances where I had a strange encounter with an animal(s).

I was walking in the woods, and their were 4 deer eating, they looked up and noticed me approaching, and I slowed down, but instead of running they kept eating, and i though this was extreamly odd. So i crept up and until I got within about 100 feet of them did they run, thats very close, and never met anyone who was able to get that close to deer, after being noticed.

The second was when I was at my friends house, he has a bunch of older cats. Well... during multyple visits these cats would come to me and sit on my lap. He said he has never seen a cat react to someone they did not really know like that.

That happens with me and other people's pets. I have gone to their houses and had a cat come and greet me like an old friend, or climb into my lap. Once, a co-worker said that she wanted to get rid of her cat, and asked me if I would take it. I agreed to come to her house to check it out. When the cat saw me, she actually rose onto her hind legs and placed her front paws on me. Of course I agreed to take her home!

usually when you ignore an animal, its strikes curiosity in it and it cant help but try to win your attention. although i dont like to be the weird person that even animals stare at and cant understand, so i usually just reward their good behavior on my terms

I have been approached by cats that were considered "unfriendly" by their owners.

I have always found it easier to have contact with animals. If I have to go to someones house and they have a pet...I will end up spending a lot more time with the pet than with the person.
Animals seem to seek my company aswell. There are several dogs and cats that come up and rub up against me when I am walking to course in the morning. I give them a pat and then go on my way.

I think animals can sense if you are a friendly person or not. And according to animals I am a saint

I have always had an affinity for animals. Especally cats. I cant tell you how many kittens i have owned in a lifetime and mother cats i have taken care of. They are honest in their feelings about things. if they dont like you , they dont lie about it. If they are happy, they cant hide it. I find that knowing a cat likes me is very satisfying and heartwarming. That, and they are fantastically covered in soft fur... unless they are the sphinx variety. ahhh, tactile heaven. My kitty, mister follows me around the house and cries for me a little when i am not there. He also will sit in the bathroom when i take a shower and cry until i turn off the water. If i could i would take him everywhere.
