I drive, but I hate it. People do so many ridiculous things while driving that I could go on for DAYS about it if I got started on a rant... so I won't, lol.

I love to drive particularly on the motorway; I get mesmerised by all the patterns of the bridges, cars and lamposts as they whizz by 8O

I'm too scared to learn to drive. With my poor co-ordination and sensory issues, i'm frightened of causing an accident. It's a bummer as your kind-of screwed if you can't drive nowadays :(

YEAH, I drive. I drive as little as possible, and ALSO hate the way most drive. I have to change the way I do things to drive, and generally do it subconciously.

Just yesterday, I drove to a pharmacy about 4 miles away. On the way back, I had some numbness. I TRIED to find a closer pharmacy, but couldn't. Today, I FINALLY went back to get a glucose monitor, to rule out diabetic neuropathy(At times, my blood sugar IS too high). I didn't even conciously really think about where I was going until I was already 3 miles(about 3/4 of the way) there!

But I have to be more agressive, almost play chicken, and give myself a WIDE berth! I USED to think this was a personality quirk, and NOW I find it is due to AS symptoms! I've been lucky. In the past 9 years I figure I have gone over 50,000 miles, and not even one SCRATCH! Prior to that, I went about 45000 miles every 3 years, and got a dented bumper. I think that was due to people wanting to cause insurance fraud though, and that isn't as likely in the mid west.

BTW I tried to talk my insurance company into lowering my premium because I drive so little, but they don't have any prices for driving that little. 8-(

I didn't get my license until two years ago, when I was 21. ><

I have more sensory issues than I care to admit to the people close to me. Certain patterns of light or color make me kind of "trance out" - I used to worry these were absence seizures, but I don't think so as much now. I have to drive with the radio on. The music is a kind of white noise... then all I have to deal with is visual information, and auditory information that's on my "back channel".... it's like a MIDI versus an MP3, LOL.

I'm good at judging velocity and angles and whatnot, but when there are too many things happening all at once...ugh.

I wish I didn't have to drive. ; ;

i do drive all the time... my university is 50 kilometers away from where i live, so i drive that distance twice per day.
other than that, i cant tell all that much about driving... it goes all by itself. and i hate when people see a straight street with atempolimit of 100 km/h and decide to drive 70 or 80 km/h. or in thick traffic, the guy/gal in front of me decides to let someone in on the lane when its not their turn. how pretentious to place ones own altruism above the egosim of others. idiots...

Yeah, tell me about it. Some people here even break the law and drive on the shoulder and play chicken with cars JUST on the hope that they might get in early and get a little farther down the road. It basically wastes time, makes things more stressful, threatens property damage, and slows everyone down.

BTW Playing chicken refers to threatening damage with the hope that the one acted against will give in. In this case, they drive closer and closer to the cars hoping that one of the cars will stop so that they can drive in. The implication is that if the drivers don't stop, they may somehow get their car damaged.

Driving is a form of stemming for me. I find it very relaxing and get zoned out listening to the radio. However, I am horrible with directions, especially detailed directions. I am in sales and sometimes forget hot to get to a customer i have been to 30 times. It is ridiculous.
