I do not know if this has anything to do with Aspergers though.. What I wanted to say is that I am so afraid of hurting people from time to time, that I do say everything wrong. Then I suddenly notice this afterwards and try to fix it..which end up doing it worse..and I try to fix that..and on and on...

I have been better with that though, beginning to think that people may ask if they do not understand what I mean. This is what I have to do when I do not understand their intentions, which is often..

Anyone else who is like that?

Don't mention the war. I mentioned it once, but I think I got away with it all right

John Cleese is a very talented man but he also has troubles (so do many other comedians, alive and dead). Try and find a book called 'Families and How to Survive Them' by John Cleese and Robin Skinner, it contains transcripts of conversations between John and Robin, his psychiatrist.

Yeah, that book is good. I think the surname of the other guy is spelt Skynner though. But it does say some pretty controversial stuff about homosexuality - just to warn you.

I know what you mean about feeling like Basil Fawlty - nothing ever seems to go how he plans it, no matter how hard he tries!

I can relate. In trying to NOT offend people - I offend people.

No wonder so many people have told me NOT to care what people think of me.

P.S.

I won't mention the war either but I think the best episode is the one where the car breaks down so he beats it over the hood with part of a tree.

I've also experienced that, from time to time.

My friend actually has a box of that! It's a genuine Fawlty Towers with a cardboard scene, little metal car, and a figurine holding the branch in the "giving a sound thrrashing" pose. :)

Quite the keepsake.
