Are you able to? What brings you to tears?

Animals suffering/being mistreated. I don't feel much for humans IRL, but I do actually come to tears for them sometimes in TV dramas. I never cry for myself, I don't get all that emotional about my own life.

Since taking fluoxetine, I haven't been able to cry, even though I have been upset and really felt the urge to cry.
It was the same with venlafaxine (which I no longer take as it made me ill).

I cry way too much... Usually from sad stories about animals.

I cry a lot-usually because I don't understand something and I just get too frustrated. Then I start feeling lost and behave very childish (so I've been told it is childish to worry so much over such little things).

I also cry when I cannot explain things correctly and people don't get what I'm saying no matter how many times I try to explain.

Therapist says it sounds like it's almost like a desperation to understand, or to be understood.

This makes me cry every time I see it. I also cry sometimes when I realize just how much life sucks.

I will cry often too much when frustrated, hearing sad stories about kids/animals suffering. Or sad movies, etc.

I've not cried in a long time. I feel like I ought to, sometimes, and I'm upset enough, but I think I taught myself before I even hit my teen years not to, if you already feel like a target then crying just makes it worse. I used to self-harm a bit, because it was the only thing that could bring the tears, and I knew I needed to cry sometimes, to get the feeling out when otherwise it wasn't strong enough. The pain seemed to help with that. I don't do that anymore, and I wouldn't recommend it to anyone. Explaining that you're just upset and want to cry because you're upset, rather than suicidal or something is hard - no one else really understands.

when i think about the way I was raised, or its pointed out to me what i don't have and never will. Though its only my bf's dad who can do that. And since I have told him what bothers me about what he says, and I've no intention on pointing out its that some of its comments/questions tend to emphasize I don't have a parent like him, that happens every so often especially when I go to him for advice. He knows somewhat though. I just can't bring myself to tell him it so directly.

I can't cry, even when I try to make myself by thinking sad/frustrating thoughts. Only my ex girl had the power to make me weep.

I never cried growing up, literally never. I didn't have that emotion really, which sounds weird. Now as I got older I started crying at stupid stuff, like the movie brother bear lol, it was sad when he his brother died haha.

When I was younger I cried when I was angry (for example while being punished) but now I haven't cried in a long time. Nothing touches me so as to cry because of it.

I recall the ending of the Terminator 2 when the cyborg is telling to John: "Now I know why you cry but it's something I could never do". It's a bit like in this scene - I know exquisitely well why other people shed tears but I never do the same. Anyway, I find it humiliating to cry in public.
