I know aspies also have meltdowns but when I have one, I start to cry, bang my fists agianst my self, flap my hands, wave my hands and arms around, bang my head, rock back and forth, scream, etc. I look like a Joon when I have that meltdown and I also feel like her too during it. Do aspies have those meltdowns too or is it more autistic than AS?

I'm not sure what you mean by meltdown. I have moments where i'll have too much stimulation or things will be too hectic for me and i'll have to get somewhere more quiet or familiar.
That usually means going home, or finding a movie theater.

When I have meltdowns I'm silent, but I bang my head against things, hit my head with my fists, and punch my arms and claw at them with my fingernails.

What I have that I think must be meltdowns appear almost like devster21 describes. Of course, there IS more to it, but I try to hide that. What you describe DOES sound more autistic, but THAT is why I think AS is a kind of autism. Even with the meltdowns I have with all my mental/verbal abilities seeming more consistant with someone who has autism seem autistic. Again though, I try to hide it. If I had my way, and more and more I am doing it, I wouldn't talk, work, or be around people.

1 very important thing in adult life that I finally learned was the need to control or bring down a notch this reaction, as a kid I meltdown a bit, now not so much, and the severity changed, I can handel alot going on around me, years of working and school and all, good training, but still sometimes you hit that breaking point, for me, I show extreme anger and punch the shock pads at work, never have I seen anybody get as angry as I do, total freak out, but actually not as bad as it used to be, I can quickly regain my posture and after a few moments and possible a break (lots of swearing, and yelling sometimes) I can chill out and return to work. Im sure everybody has a different way of experiencing this.

I would either bite myself or jump up and down. Meltdowns usually happen once every three months with me.

I'm not sure I ever really had melt downs. I had rages when I was younger ( < 10 years) but these were more anger/frustration than overstimulation. Still feel like I have a short fuse sometimes but I usually don't act out.

I have varying levels of meltdown from just finger tapping and being hypersensitive to sobbing and being unable to speak to screaming and self injurying. Those usually don't happen unless I go from okay to extremely sensitive really fast.

As is on the Autistic Spectrum, and yes, from all my observations, aspies do have meltdowns, but the severity seems to vary from person to person, which could be connected to a variety of things including the amygdala, upbringing, efforts at damage limitation, coping methods, sensitivity to stimuli...

When I was young, my meltdowns included going from complete calm to beating the crap out of anyone near me in 4 seconds flat, Often accompanied by high-pitched (this was before puberty) screaming noises...

Yep. I've had that kind of meltdown since I was tiny AND I'm an Aspie.

Well I don't do much of that list but I know that I have sorta sat against a wall and sorta banged my head backwards against it a small number of times...

Yes. I have meltdowns occasionally.

And I feel like I'm gonna have another nervous breakdown when tiring myself "putting on a front" and covering up my depression around others.

I used to have screaming rages about things.... i sometimes do on occasion, but it is usually more quiet and a lot of pounding things with my fist or rocking and some primal moments. Usually i meltdown in private, because it embarrasses me.

Oh yes, the meltdowns...

Just recently had a screaming fit that lasted most of the day.
Set off by a shame attack, which bounced back as rage.
