I do,although it's not as bad as before.

I feel like not enough people understand AS and Autism, and alot of people view us as weird, ret*d and outcasts becuase of our diagnosis(es). Being treated like I'm "special" makes me feel alone.

What also makes me feel alone,is my social issue. I have learned decent social skills over the past few years, but it only helps a little. Sometimes,THIS makes me feel alone.

I tell you what, I absolutely hate having AS, just because nobody understands it. If it was EDUCATED, maybe I'd be happier in general.

People will still find a way to mock AS even if it is educated. They have to be above something, right? No matter which way you look at it we will be inferior in most peoples eyes, tolerance is hard to find as an aspie.

I've noticed that people who don't understand what you are going through will think you are a know it all. Sometimes they can twist that into meaning self-absorbed and arrogant. Don't worry though, they aren't people you need around you anyway.

I think of it as mistranslations and lack of communication.

One side can get their point across easily while the other side often says the wrong things or goes in circles having difficulty with the topic. The connection gets lost between the two.

Well, people's lack of understanding caused me to eventually change aspects of my character. I feel almost like tony on escape from witch mountain without his harmonica or his sister.

That is SAD! It is almost like Having something carelessly changed, and finding that it was what made you part of a family.

many things make me lonely... but it is a lil too ironic, that even myself is working against me in some respects.

Yes, I hate it so much. I don't know how to connect to anyone, I feel really alone even when surrounded by people. I don't know how to express myself, nor do I know what other people mean when they express themselves.

I don't think its AS; I think I'm actually an alien.

I think we are just left over descendants of an alien - human hybrid group.

AS is a myth, the government is trying to cover up the aliens amongst the sheep!

It's funny. I used to feel alone. I loved the name of this site because I really felt like I was misplaced. Once I found out why, Asperger's, I felt much less alone. I am actually much happier not striving to be something I'm not. It's not because I am a failure, I have AS. I can accept that. Being a failure, that wasn't acceptable to me. At this point in my life, I'm really just okay with things. Ask me the same question ten or twenty years ago, and I would have told you YES!! !!

I feel alone, and I feel like it's my fault. But then I also feel that I deserve it for some past sin.

Same for me. And I agree with some others that part of the reason why I feel alone is because people don't understand my autism.

I feel all alone, as if I am the only one like me and everyone else can see the differences. I hate being called a know-it-all. If you do not wish for me to answer your questions, don't ask them of me!
People who know are sometimes more cruel than those who don't. It also hurts more when they reject you.
I think what makes me feel most alone is that no one will ever, really, give me a chance. They never even try to get to know me. They call me dumb or ret*d....yet they turn around and call me a show-off or know-it-all in school. They don't even see that this is illogical. How can I be ret*d and yet have far better grades? Who is the dumb one here?
Part of me doesn't mind because I prefer either complete solitude or only one or two people around. Part of me aches because I feel so alone.
