I was visiting the library in my old neighborhood and got to thinking about my various passions/obsessions when I was younger. I don't recall them all, but I remember being very interested in:

Greek mythology
Ancient Egypt and Egyptian mythology
Prehistoric cats (anything with teeth as long as my arm)
Anything Lord of the Rings related

In Junior High I added:
Quantum theory
Evolution
Astrophysics

Who else has fond memories of childhood obsessions that maybe they no longer pursue--or do pursue, but in a more grown-up sort of way? (Personally, I no longer know the names of all the nymphs Apollo ever chased around, but I at least remember the names of most Greek and Egyptian gods--with the Romans thrown in for good measure. Although the Roman gods were nowhere near as cool as the Greeks, IMHO ;)

I've always been interested in mythology too, especially Greek mythology. It started when I was about 8. Our teacher used to always end the school week with a tale from the Greek myths and I was spellbound. I still am.
As a kid I was also obsessed with cats and peacocks and that's not changed. The intensity of the obsession varies but the interest is always there. I think I'm stuck with them forever :)

- Legos and other construction games

Current passions :

- Psychology and philosophy
- Science, science and more science!

childhood:
- faeries (and drawing them)
- fairy tales (and illustrating them)
- my little pony
- barbies
- legos to a degree, though I never had a huge set
- marbles
- old pennies
- foreign currency
- The Narnia Chronicles by C.S. Lewis
- when I lived in Paris, and my family owned a clothing design company, I was obsessed with a community of cork people, whom I made with wine bottle corks and miscellaneous thread/fabric that I found around the studio. I created first and last names and ages and a family tree for everyone, showing who was related to whom and how, and who was dating whom, and whom they'd ever dated in the past (I was 10).
- photocopying (circa 1985, also in Paris), especially body parts
- Michael Jackson's Thriller
- Weird Al Yankovich
- stickers!
- Garfield the cat, in all His forms

adolescence:
- Mario Bros & Zelda, on the original Nintendo
- watching spiders spin their webs, from beginning to end
- my cocker spaniel
- playing viola

teen:
- not much time for hobbies outside of high school, so I just got really into my classes (esp. art and biology), and obsessed over certain boys

adult past:
- college/indie radio--dj'ing and producing
- philosophy (majored in it)
- French
- German
- Tolkein
- voiceover
- acting
- improv comedy (performing)
- certain boys
- cat psychology
- improv message boards
- thrifting/antiques

now/recent:
- the damned internet
- gardening, especially digging things up
- my dogs
- my architecture coursework, and also complaining about it
- learning about AS
- this website (damnit!)
- psychology and learning differences
- wandering aimlessly through bookstores
- books
- light bulbs (but I've got more than I need, so I've toned it down--there's just something about the "right" quality of light--maybe it's an architecture thing)
- netflix
- itunes

The ADHD/Asperger's combo isn't so great though--Jill of all trades, Mistress of none...
