I copy what I find to be awesome. I don't copy what I don't find to be awesome. Therefore, I don't see it as "copycatting" so much as a real selection from things I have seen and deemed to be awesome. They say imitation is the highest form of flattery. :)

It is copying in the sense that I'm just doing something that I have seen before in the real world, but I don't really know how to just make up fashion in my own head. I'm just not creative like that.

another good question could be do you think everythings already been done and people are just doing the same thing over and over again?, maybe.

Is it an aspie trait? :?
I've never found myself copying a trend or anything like that...

Richard: I think that you've come up with a BRILLIANT way to drive someone crazy :D

One of my shirts is the same as that of a co-worker, and once in a great while we wear our identical shirts on the same day.

If I knew what day he was going to wear The Shirt, then I would try to wear mine on that day, too. But, I can't predict, and I don't think that he takes a whole lot of pleasure in being my shirt buddy.

I agree!

Actually, this sort of thing used to be a cause of stress for me. It's something I don't understand about the NT world: If you look like other people, you're a "poser"; if you don't, you're "deviant", "dorky" or "weird". It seems like you can lose out either way. You're supposed to somehow look the same but different. I can't deal with that, so I just look different.

Sounds like me. I don't follow trends or fashions, but I will copy what I see if I like it and I can find a comfy version. One day I look quite goth, the next I look like a soccer mom, the next I'm wearing adidas track pants and a hoodie and the day after that I'm in leggings and a long sweater. Predictable, I am not. I do what I like and what feels good. I like to look good.
