I don't think meetings like that are meant for devenomizing. I always just thought they were the chance to meet other autistic people. Maybe you could talk to some of them about it.

Hey GH! Remember me? I was at the meeting, too. I enjoyed meeting you. You seem like a cool person.

Yeah, aspies/ghosthunters usually shock people. I do it all the time, just by beeing me.
What do you mean on a leash? That you are on a leash? Or that the "facilitator" was beeing too PG13?

I wish people could be more honest and open sometimes. Today I went to see the fishies and seals with my cousins. The only people I get along with are kids, and the closest I get to a friend right now are my cousins (age 9..) Pathetic I know

So what kinda meeting was it?

My town doesnt even have any meetings. My town just pretends like aspies dont exist.

I hate PG 13 discussions if there are adults involved. I have flat out told therapists that if I am there to "open up" and discuss, then I will do it in my own way and I should feel safe doing so. I had a horrible trucker mouth when I met my husband and have curbed it considerably (for a professional reason, not merely social), but I cannot stand the nonallowance (is that a word?) of creative cussing.

I admire you for going to the group, as I would not have the patience for that...

Tallgirl.

Hmmmm? Something to consider Tom! Now that I properly
de-venomized, I hope to recall the good stuff!

How are you Tom?
What's up?
And a friendly Greetings from Ghosthunter

I think you must have missed the function of the group. Sounds to me like it was purely for social reasons, rather than a SUPPORT group, in the sense of the word. For such a group, I don't think PG13 limit on topics is that big a problem. How often do you talk about MA etc stuff to strangers or prospective friends, anyway?
At any rate, I don't see how going to a group to 'open up' would really be beneficial or effective. They're still all strangers, they'll do the routine "sad for you" act, even while they really don't care anyway. I would much rather for an intellectual discussion one on one with another person, than a group thing.

Its really quite simple, Ghosthunter. If your point in being at the group isn't socialising, don't bother going. You'll just end up leaving dissatisfied, anyways.

Different countries have different censorship laws, so I dunno what you're on about. :?

Just curious, how did you manage to cure your trucker's mouth? I curse like a sailor when I am really angry.

Doesn't PG13 kinda give it away, RSdude? Its the same thing over here in Australia. Parental Guidance for Under 13 year olds.

Given PG-13 today, that's pretty much cutting out EXTREME cussing and frontal nudity. That's not a bad meeting. Unless they meant more like PG or something.
