All the times I have been alone at my boyfriend's while he's been at work, I did housework and stuff but didn't decorate a room which needs decorating (the whole place needs redecorating).

Then since his daughter has been temporarily living there, she's already painted one of the rooms, even though she works a lot too. This makes me feel lazy or useless, since I only work part time even though I don't live at my boyfriend's yet.

Does it matter if I'm not into doing major stuff like that? To be honest, I wouldn't know where the hell to begin. I'm not very motivated in that way, and painting rooms isn't really my thing.

I hope I don't sound feminist, but I always used to think painting and decorating rooms was a mans job, probably because my dad has always decorated rooms in our house and not my mum. But anyway am I wrong to not think to do up a room all this time?

No. Painting is a big job. I painted my front door - front and back and my back door and it took a couple weeks - I'm a perfectionist. Would I do it again? With school going on - no. It took alot out of me. I'd probably have to have nothing else going on for me to do it. I have my outdoor furniture needing painting now. I would like to pay someone to do it - the furniture is painted half black and half red because I didn't scrape enough and now the paint is peeling everywhere. I don't know if I should paint it all black or all red. It's a problem.

Painting is one of the few DIY things I really enjoy! But one either likes it or one doesn't, so no need to feel guilty about it.
