Are people with AS more likely to be into history?

I find that I'm really into history, on all fronts. Just about everything has a history behind it, from civilizations, to war, to childhood, to transportation to technology, such as television and radio. I'm fascinated with all types of history, and I'm wondering if that's an AS trait.

Me too, especially civilization and war. I love how boundaries shift over time.

I don't thing its an Aspie trait per se, but deep, enveloping interest in a particular subject is. And I think history is a fairly common interest for Aspies to have.

I'm definitely interested in history - I'm majoring in it in college. But I am more interested in the "culture" side of history, which I believe is related to AS. In The Complete Guide to Asperger's Syndrome, Tony Attwood mentions that a lot of Aspies are very into learning about other cultures and history because it is an escape from a modern society that we cannot understand...

I'm so into history it's not even funny....I <3 History.
I think it has a big appeal for many aspies probably for many reasons.

I'm taking history at A-level.

LOL, I read this title as "Are aspie people more likely to be IN history?" i.e., famous or something.

I was about to answer "yes".

I love history and have my Master's in French History, with a particular focus on the 19th century, especially Napoleon III's Second Empire. Eventually, I'd love to combine my passion for history with my love of geography in order to obtain my Ph.D in Historical Geography (with a focus on France, of course).

History is more of a passing obsession of the moment for me. Every now and then I'll really get into one historical thing and research the heck out if it and then stop. This could be for one day or up to a month...

Very into History. Studying it for my degree in fact, but I have always had a very wide interest in it.

I think it's about how with our perhaps more vivid imaginations and daydream worlds we can interact with this 'other' place and these 'alien' people, who seem so different and unlike the ones we are familiar with in our everyday lives.

I often find it easier to make sense of this historical world, and enter into it in a way which I find very hard in the 'real' world of the moment.

I've always really been deep into history, especially the Cold War.

At first I would have said no to the question, then I sat down and thought about it.

1) I've always been interested in the history of the Manhattan Project.

2) I'm becoming really interested in the history of computing.

So the answer is 'maybe'.

I have always loved history, from reading about it to visiting old manor houses, castles and ampitheatres...plus museums. I far preferred a museum or old stately home as a child to a theme park or zoo.

Currently, it is Elizabeth I and the Tudor period that interests me.

I love history, it was my best subject in high school and collage. Never once studied for a test, yet was always top of the class. My favorite times in history are WW2, Cold War, Desert Storm, and of course my personal history.
