Have you ever been helped in any way by another Aspie? Or have you ever helped another Aspie in any way?

Alex started this site so he helped me and all of you... and a lot of you helped me just by saying they understand and know exactly what I mean... MADDuck helped me by encouraging me to go to the ER, thinking of ways to stay stimulated (though in the long run they're not enough), I helped many of the people here in the same way... other than that, no for me!

My aspy son realized that he socializes best by teaching. I encouraged the high school, while he was a student there, to let him help in their tutoring center. He was very, very good with other aspy kids. He doesn't make them feel bad about themselves and he is successful when he's tutoring them. He needs this as much as they do. It's how they both feel good about interacting. Socialization on their terms.

I help autistic kids of all forms from severely, to mildly, all the time. I volunteer at a childrens specialized hospital at least twice a week, my favorite place to be is there. I was there last night worked with an autistic boy whos severely autistic, can't really walk without assistance, and is impacted big time by his sensory, hes soo cute. I was helping him walk for a bit, then he climbed on me and used me as his personal chair lol. Anyways I usually also help with teaching non-verbal children sign, and how to pronounce certian words. I also help run the autism carnival every april. Its great when you can handflap and everybody else around you is doing it too hehe.

sounds like good work to do if okay with people,as have got more experience with autism than probably any of the other staff [unless there are any other auties working there].
does the noise from any of the children who shout cause any problems?

gave Akira,Ryo,Turok and Khan [rats] and their ferret kingdom to another autie, his family own a pet shop and they live on a farm but one of his last rats died,on the day of bringing the boys to his petshop,he kept phoning his mum up all day wanting to know if theyve been brought in yet, even though he wasnt going to see them till his mum got home anyway.
he sleeps with them, and gives them a way better life than what they were getting as dad couldn't cope with them and a huge ferret kingdom cage [also gave that with the boys] on his own and wasn't allowed them in the res.home cause of rat. bias.
