I don't enjoy sitting in a chair being in close contact with a stranger plus I have curly hair so the cut is usually a bit naff. The WORST aspect of experiencing a haircut is the damn smalltalk. Previous hairdressers have asked me how many children do you have its so annoying, I usually say things they just don't get! Anyway the one I went to last night was not too bad she was friendly. I relaxed a bit too much and began to give my critical opinion of every hairdresser in the town! I think I scared her! Anyway I came away with a half decent cut but rather dodgy 80's salt and pepper highlights!

I like the feel of the actual cutting ill admit and always have since I can remember  .

However, i cant stand the small talk, all I want to do is sit silently and feel the cutting, and whenever I gotta talk i cant focus on that nice feeling of having your hair cut.

I dislike having my haircut due to the mirrors, personal space enchroachment and inane pointless chatter. So I do what I now understand to be practising my NT skills and try not to look at myself.

It's a whole different world, though and, if I get chance and my hairdresser shuts up, I like to people-watch and wonder about the people who are having their hair done or other beauty treatments - they always look much more co-ordinated and well-groomed than me

I haven't had a haircut in years. I never liked haircuts because my hair would just grow again and then I'd have to get it cut again and it would never end! I just decided to grow it out, and I'm glad I did, cause I am sexy as hell now. My hair is like 18 inches long.

I hate going to the hairdresser. Hairdressers always talk about things I'm not interested in. A year ago I had as long hair as Ozzy Osbourne, I also had a beard back then, but decided to cut the hair and shave.

I am with you on this one. I actually like people cutting my hair, because it feels kind of good and it smells magnificent in those places (as long as it's not too strong of a scent). BUT I hate the smalltalk. And I'm trapped under this huge gown so I can't move my hands to touch my face, or turn my head away for a minute, or anything. I have to watch myself talking in the mirror, which is so awkward...

hate having haircut, one of worst experiences ever, from the feeling,to the noises,to the sitting still for so long...everything about it is torture, apart from the leaving bit.
the hair dresser am used to go to when lived in urmston was experienced with autistics, and she always made sure every bit of electronic equipment was turned off before am went in,and wasn't given appointments at busy times, she was very quick at it to.
sister cut it last week, she has never even done it before and she did it perfectly, before that had just got hair held in one hand and scissors in the other and cut straight across.

I love having my haircut -- love the shampoo, love the feel of somebody touching my hair.

HATE the smalltalk.

It's the talking that bothers me. I prefer to get drunk beforehand. Or cut my hair myself. Which I've been doing since January. It doesn't look too bad.

i have bought my own hair trimmer few weeks ago and i loved it :) i cut myself, it looks good, it's cheap (free). i had long hair my entire life (i am a man), one day i decided to go shorter and asked the hairstylist to do me short, so he tried, but i didn't like the result, bought the trimmer with clipper (0-21mm) and did it myself with better outcome :)

I've cut mine since high school; I razor it off (which is a "stim", I like the feeling), I sometimes go a year on and off concerning razoring it--shaggy or a monk is my look (not that I care, but you know).

I usually shave the hair off most of my face/neck as I don't like the itchy feeling.

I get my Mum to cut my hair because at least she knows that I never have more than 2cm cut off. I haven't had my hair cut for over a year now and I've got split ends up to my scalp, but I don't particularly care. Its still growing, and that's all I want.

I also hate washing my hair and will only do it after my Mum has reminded me every day for a week.

I too HATE the smalltalk. I think/hope I've gotten better at it, but I hate it and is the main thing I dislike about getting my hair cut (beyond it costing money, taking time, and me having to sit in an "unclean" seat-thanks OCD! ;) )

Whenever I get a haircut, I feel like being put on a pedestal because it's just me and the hairdresser, and I'm looking at myself in the mirror as well. So I also avoid looking at it.
