I love washing the dishes.

This is a really random post.

But, please answer with

(1) Are you AS/Autism/HFA etc
(2) Do you like washing the dishes?

I doubt there's a connection, but the questions are just out of interest.

I hate washing the dishes. Especially when I lived with my parents, it was so gross! My brothers would literally go months without brushing their teeth and the thought of I'm touching these things they ate off of is nauseating. I don't mind washing what my husband and I eat off of though.

If I don't brush my teeth in the morning, I cannot eat anything because the taste in my mouth is so disgusting.

I hate touching my Mum's parents' cutlery, but that's for other reasons.

Oh gosh, I hate washing the dishes, let alone touching them! It's just totally gross when I think about how someone ate from the table and all the leftovers a person has produced. Or, the worst case, somebody spits out something and puts it back on his plate. Hmm, strange, I always thought that I hate this only because I'm autistic and it's a lot like touching another person's skin or drinking from the same glass as other people.

I *HATE* washing dishes, and don't do it at all now that my mom got rid of our dishwasher for some unknown reason (prior to that I pretty much did all the dishes, and wasn't TOO grossed out if I handled them right away after they were used-now I use mostly disposable dishes, and just dry the regular dishes if my mom washes them).

A consoler thinks I have AS, and I'm going in for testing in 2 1/2 weeks. I was diagnosed with OCD (I have it...or at least I have the "compulsion" part), which I guess is what makes it so disgusting for me to handle dirty dishes.

I have not been formally diagnosed, but I love to do dishes, by
hand or by dishwasher. For some reason it relaxes me. I like the
sound of a dishwasher, too.

Autism-and hate washing the dishes,it's mainly a sensory problem with touching a lot of the things that need washing and also with water, get around it to an extent, using clothes or towels to hold and not touch the stuff, only ever use the same plate so this is never a major problem anyway.

Unfortunately, I've worked as a dishwasher many times because it's a job that's in high demand and you don't have to deal with people too much . . . except that there are always some members of the waitstaff who like to constantly remind you of your "inferiority".

I like washing dishes at home when it's cold because the hot water warms me, temporarily.

That job completely freaks me out. I don't think I could possibly do that, which scares me because I couldn't complete my degree, and I'm scared I won't be able to get anything else at some point (even though I could be really useful for some computer repair type place, but without a degree...)

I can't stand people who act like they're better than other people because of their job, or money, or whatever. That's evil.

AS and I love the flow of warm water and the foam. It's relaxing.

(1) AS
(2) HATE washing dishes. I hate touching metal or hearing metal touch anything else. I don't like touching glass, especially when it starts feeling funky from etching - that powdery feel. GAH!! ! Washing dishes is a nightmare. Now if everything were all plastic, it would help. But I'd still hate dishes.

Wow.

I love washing the dishes, but I hate washing up gloves, which does anti-wonders to my hands.
