The Voice of the Mean One, Mr. Grinch

Well, after many years of being totally unaware of whose was the voice in the classic You're a Mean One, Mr. Grinch, I was informed that the person the voice belonged to was Boris Karloff.

And everything was happy and fine and I informed those who didn't know it was Boris when the subject happened to come up.

But then, I found a website that has given me new (and accurate) information. I was wrongly informed about Boris Karloff being the voice in the song.

The website said, TRUE, Boris Karloff did the narration for the classic Seuss cartoon. HOWEVER, he did not sing the song. It was instead the man who did the voice for many years of none other than... TONY THE TIGER!! !

His true identity for those of you who do not know is Thurl Ravenscroft. He died this last May from prostate cancer.

But yes. It's true. Despite that they sound SOOO identical. The voice in the song, You're a Mean One, Mr. Grinch, was not Boris Karloff but instead... Tony the Tiger.

I really thought it was Boris, but now that I think about it, the voice did sound like Thurl.

I downloaded the song from WinMX and they even had it listed under Boris...

Inaccuracy, inaccuracy, inaccuracy...
