Is there someone who just can´t be in the presence of people and therefore stays only at home and goes out only when it's necessary? If so, how are you coping with life? Do you do your work/studies through the Internet?

It's not so much I can't stand people so much as my friends are busy and don't feel like going out, or I feel awkward about calling other people to go out. So I usually don't go out unless I'm invited, and I don't mind staying at home by myself. I do, afterall, enjoy doing stuff that doesn't involve other people. I study with my textbooks, and that's probably all I need, since I study math, and do math problems.

I guess I'm like that right now. I go to school online and I take too large a courseload to allow me time to work. And I don't have much of a social life. But I do go out to see a show about once a week because I'm obsessed with music. I rarely talk to people at these shows, though. And I walk my dog three or four times each day.

I didn't plan this lifestyle, but I'm really enjoying it. As soon as I stopped having to interact with people irl, I stopped experiencing any depression or anxiety. Now I'm planning to work alone or even from home whenever possible.

Well, I stay at home most of the time, though I do go to the store and such.

I only go to the doctor and the park with my dog. Occasionally I visit my parents and go sailing and only go to the grocery store If I need to. I buy almost everything online and I don't hang out with others. I study at home ( part time) and I don't work.
this is due to my anxiety attacks, its really difficult to function properly.
I really hope to feel better one day

I prefer staying at home. I didn't realize that I wouldn't instantly become a normal mother when I had kids. I thought that parenting would turn me into a regular person. Of course, it didn't. I feel bad that I didn't take my kids to more places or do soccer mom stuff.

Aspies moms need NT wives.

My time outside the house is limited to my weekend job and necessary trips for the kids. I walk my dogs, but always alone. I find I am happier now that I have given up on the idea of that I have to be socially fulfilled to live a normal life. I am fulfilled and I find being around most people depressing.

I limit my time spent outside to really necessary situations - school, work (talking about work, I mean my teacher practice two times a week - it's not a real work; we're not even given money for this), hairdresser (every two months), dentist, doctor, sometimes visits in my cousins' home with my mother. Situations when I was out this summer could be counted on my two hands' fingers - every time then I HAD to leave (you know, doctor, hairdresser and so on). I don't derive any special pleasure from simple going out and walking but if I lived in more interesting place, for example in the village where's a lot of greenery and open fields, I'd develop a liking for this activity.

Wrong Planet is a place one can admit she does such a thing. If I informed people from normal forum for normal, neurotypical folks about my habits, they'd inform me in turn to be a weirdo and adviced me to see a shrink. :?

Not wanting to go out all the time means a lighter footprint on the planet. Saves gas, less pollution. Aspues are an enlightened group. :D

I have to leave the house 3 days out of 7 to work.I work the overnight shift with animals so my human contact is minimal(and still to much for my liking).Any other tasks...like shopping I do after my work shift on my way home.I have major driving phobias,so the less I have to do,the better.

I do go out to eat chinese buffet once a week and shop thrifstore(love them)a few times a month, but I do both in the company of my BF,which makes things a bit easier(he's like my comfort animal :D )calms me down.

I love nature but dont like "getting there".If I lived in an isolated place with woods out my back door,I would spend much more time outside. This would be my ideal life...with a way to make income from my own home and a good thriftstore to get "art supplies" for making things.Maybe some day I will be able to organize all these things into a life.......(hahahaha,not likely).

I've turned into a shut in as well. (As is evident by the large amount of dumb posts by me in this forum).

I go to class then hide at home. I think I'm happier now than when I made the effort to socialize and be liked. You don't notice it but constant rejections can really destroy your self-esteem and happiness.

I stopped going to doctors and dentists and hairdressers years ago.
My 8 year old son home-UN-schools, which means he reads lots and plays a lot on computer and tells himself long stories in his room, tho recently managed to get him onto 3 extra-curr courses , (relief ! cos I was worried he'd get no human contact, me not being much of a contact really , tho we do hug; about the only times I ever do hug in fact!! ) , of fencing, karate, and african drumming, each once a week, and this has meant going out more than I'm used to, this has been fairly stressing for me !.
Otherwise only go out for second-hand clothing and bric-a-brac stalls at friday market (sometimes !) , and to "DO" the big shop saturdays with the NT Papa in his car in nearest small town. Have coffee, watch utterly incredible busy world for 40 minutes, and then focus only on shelves in shops.
Otherwise am almost always at home.
It's weird , and wonderful.
