Like, not all deaf people are part of the deaf community. Not all countries are part of the international community. So where do you stand?

I belong to the AS community (not sure how AS I am though).

Quite. I'm not sure if posting on WP counts (although it might - it might be a tough job getting an in person meetup of people with AS, for obvious reasons). I think if there was some sort of local entity I could get involved with, I might feel like I was part of a community, but all there is is the Autism Speaks sponsored New Mexico Autism Society, and the one time I was able to get hold of them (3 weeks after originally placing a call - and what sort of autism society provides a phone number as the only method of contacting them - they don't realise how hard that can be?) it almost immediately seemed they weren't interested in ever speaking to me again because I'm just too high functioning.

Do you live AS culture? Do you identify with people with AS? More than you identify with NTs? Do yoju hang out with people with AS? More than NTs? And more often? Do you want to live with Aspies? Do you feel more like an Aspie? :)

Eh... No? The people I usually hang out with are those from university (all NT) and those from Animexx (which is a German site devoted to Manga/Anime and art in general, there are meetings quite often and I met a lot of my friends there.) I'm also in touch with some people from my old school. I don't think there even is something like "AS culture". Yes, I know some others with autism, but they're definitely a minority among my friends, and I wouldn't want to restrict myself not to talk to / hang out with NTs...

The only people I know who have Asperger's Syndrome are myself and my sister, so I doubt I can say I'm in a community.

In terms of being a part of the AS culture on Wrong Planet yes. Offline all of my interaction is with NTs. If there are any Aspies that I interact with personally, then I don't know it.

I'm not really in the community. I would like to be but I always work on Sundays and the group here gathers every second Sunday of every month at 3pm and I am working then and work till 11pm. I still have doubts about my AS and sometimes feel I am not on the spectrum.

I voted for "Having AS but not part of the community" because the nearest AS support group to me is in the Dallas-Fort Worth area (100 miles away).

If WP and other forums count, then I could have voted for the second option.

don't interact with people in a physical sense, don't relate to humans well, excluding own family and staff everyone am do know are either autistic or just LD.
going to be going to a national autistic day centre two days every week soon [funding was sorted out by ss ages ago,but haven't had introduction yet],so will be in presence of other autistics a lot more,am okay with being in presense of others, just don't interact with them.
