If I have something special I want to do, I often have to have things just right to be able to start to do that thing, it is often knowing I won't be disturbed by anything for anyone.

If something is not that important to me it doesn't seem to matter that much how things are or who is around.

Does anyone else have this problem? Does it stop you from doing what you really want to unless the conditions are exactly right for you?

oh. yeah. very much so.

"OH NO! NOW ITS RUINED! IT'S RUINED!"

is something i scream at least once a day, when my "perfect" conditions are disturbed.

Conditioning is very important. Time, mood, motivation, overall enthusiasm towards the task. I do 100 percent quality no matter the task. Though I do not do something that does not interest me or I consider a waste my time. I have improved quite a bit.... Though when my plans or "conditions" go wrong I get upset and can withdrawal from the task at hand or never even start it.

I try to change and family has try to change it to. But it is something embedded in me.

Yes, I have certain procedures, and routines that I feel have to be followed. If the steps don't go as planned, I just seem to freeze. It's like I can't go to step 3 when in my mind step 2 wasn't completed. This is where I go into meltdown mode, or at the least I won't get anything done. My strict adherence to routine is by far one of my biggest downfalls.
