For years, I have repeated the last few words of my sentences, last few words of my sentences...does anyone else have this habit? I simply want to convey what it is that I mean to say, but I cannot help but repeat it.

No, I don't usually repeat the last words of my sentences last words of my sentences. Of course there are always exceptions.

I do, however, find myself paraphrasing things I've previously already said. I like to make myself clear and unambiguous, sometimes at the expense of being repetitive. Paraphrase is a good thing though. It brings the point home. Sounds like a similar thing to what you do, but expressed a little differently.

I don't repeat the end of what I say normally, but I'll say the same exact thing 50 different ways in trying to explain something to others, lol.

When I am asked a question, I'll repeat the last word or 2 of what was asked before I answer.

I have a sort of internal echolalia, in that I think verbally (I say things in my head rather than just use the shorthand of basic concepts) and often my thoughts final syllable gets stuck, either on repeat or unsaid hanging suspended. My tongue often moves inside my mouth as I think, like if I think of the word "think" my tongue presses against the back of my teeth (for "th") then arches against the roof of my mouth (for "ing") but then the "kuh" syllable will stick there until I move on to a new thought or unless I say the "kuh" out loud.

Nobody knows I am doing this because my lips don't move, at the most it looks like I'm swallowing.

I probably have echolalia. I often repeat phrases that I've heard.

Yeah, sounds like echolalia - I have this too, especially as a young child.

I do this, a lot. People have yelled at me for being so repetitive. I don't mean to, it's just the way I naturally converse.

me too, much worse when i'm with people i know well because i don't police myself so much. Since it was first pointed out to me i have realised just how automatic and frequent it is. It is connected to wanting to make myself clear etc , like people have said, but it's also almost as if i'm not sure i've said it, or said it loud enough, and need to redo. In that sense an insecurity about my own feedback.
yep.
And the NT papa of my AS/PDD son gets so so so fed up of it. He constantly throws at me "now you're going wear out my ears repeating that 100 times !" ( in french of course ! !) The trouble is that the more anxious/stressed i am the more i do it, till i am rephrasing everything AND repeating word for word the last bit of EACH rephrase. This is probably not fun to listen to. I knew there was some reason i lived alone until age 35!! I knew i wasn't good at it. :? :(

I tend to repeat outloud what I've heard on TV. Like the last sentence the character says. I don't do it all the time but it's definitely something that I do unconciously. In the same vein, I also sort of "monologue" stuff from movies, tv, etc. if I think it's funny. I'll repeat lines from movies even though the person I'm saying it to has heard it a MILLION times before.

I'm definitely a movie line/ tv line person. I tend to think in those parameters. Must be the scriptedness that attracts me to it.

Yeah, I don't know what makes me do it. I even remember the MOST obscure lines from a movie including the inflection, pauses, etc. Maybe I'm just a good mimic, who knows?

Most of my humor and personality traits are modeled after characters from TV shows and movies. People, who aren't versed in movies and TV, always think I'm hilarious but I just steal those lines from movies and TV.

I used to have a horrible problem repeating things, explaining the same things multiple ways, repeating one or two words and/or a phrase, etc. I am usually verbose to an extreme beyond the pale. My therapist has worked with me extensively teaching me the difference between the long answer and the short answer. I am getting a little better, but some conversations can be exhausting because I have to work so hard monitoring myself. I often revert to old habits and my speech is peppered with these quirks. Also, because I have a naturally deep voice and everyone says that I should go into broadcasting, I often amuse myself by repeating lines from TV/radio and/or repeat things that people say if they annoy me.
