I have a professor who wears random and strange hats to class every day; reasoning that you have to be willing to embarrass yourself in order to do a good job in our field, so if you can't teach a class with a stupid hat on your head, then you might as well change fields.
Because of him, I can get away with wearing my beanie (and propellor) to class on random days.
