This idea is partly based from the other thread "Trouble finding music I like", but it's about TV. I actually do like older classic hit TV shows that were first on until the 90s/mid-2000s (except for kid or adult animated series like Arthur or South Park). I think I'm strange about it, because most people seem to focus on liking the shows that have live actors and more drama-oriented stories. I have more of an indifference to now popular TV than dislike. I still like cartoons, even though besides shows like South Park or Family Guy that are still on, I even still tend to focus on older episodes or older shows from before the mid-00s (I'm repeating myself huh?). I'd rather watch a stand-alone full-length movie than a series.
I think it possibly might be because of when I was growing up until around 12-13, we (me and sibling) were generally expected to watch things that were directly marketed to kids. Not that my parents were that strict about our TV, per se. That's just how our viewing developed then.
But I guess I'm also looking for some kind of "antidote" or suggestions.
